Cox Launches NBC Shows in High-Definition in MyPrimetime On Demand

Cox Communications has launched NBC shows in high-definition in MyPrimetime On DEMAND for HD subscribers. Cox has already launched hot shows of ABC, AMC and WE, now NBC joins the On Demand offering of Cox. Following are the shows available in HD On Demand:

30 Rock
Community
Parks and Recreation
Mercy and Heroes

Chris Pantoya, Cox Vice President of Marketing, said “MyPrimetime gives our customers anytime access to some of the season’s hottest programming in crystal clear HD, whenever they want it. Plus, the addition of Saturday Night Live to the MyPrimetime lineup ensures customers don’t miss any of the “water cooler” moments for which that show has become so famous.”

NBC’s programs on MyPrimetime on Cox is available to HD subscribers on Channel 1. Cox customers can enjoy anytime access to hundreds of episodes from more than 20 networks including ABC, NBC, USA, AMC, TBS, TNT, Comedy Central, Disney and more.

Cox Launches Upgrade For On DEMAND To Digital Cable Subscribers

Cox Communications announced that it has launched an upgrade to the on screen interface to its Cox On Demand with thousands of choices available in the On DEMAND library. This new interface upgrade delivers faster and simpler navigation for Cox Digital Cable customers.

Cox new upgrade includes several enhancements to the Cox On DEMAND service:

Horizontal scrolling provides quicker navigation through folders
Jump back 10 seconds with the new Instant Replay function
Movie previews are available directly from a folder’s main menu
‘Skip’ functions allow the user to skip forward or backward in 15-minute intervals while fast-forwarding or rewinding

Cox is also adding more choices to FreeZone, more HD content and more Movies On DEMAND, including movies that are available on the same day as DVD release.

Cox Launches Outdoor Channel HD in Parma, Ohio, Las Vegas, Nevada and Hampton Roads

Cox Communications will launch Outdoor Channel on its Sports and Information tier package to its subscribers in Parma, Ohio, Las Vegas, Nevada and Hampton Roads, Virginia. Cox is able to launch Outdoor Channel in these markets due to Outdoor Channel Holdings expanding its distribution agreement with Cox.

Cox will launch Outdoor Channel’s standard definition, high-definition network and video-on-demand (VOD) programming in Parma, Ohio, Las Vegas, Nevada and Hampton Roads, Virginia markets.

Outdoor Channel delivers programming focused on the outdoors, offering programming that includes hunting, fishing, Western lifestyle, off-road motor sports and adventure.

Cox Communications Launches Big Ten Network HD in Arizona

Cox Communications has launched Big Ten Network in Arizona and the sports available on Cox’s Sports Package. Cox has added Big Ten Network in standard definition on channel 177 and in high-definition on channel 777.

The Big Ten Network is a regional sports network on launched August, 2007 dedicated to the Big Ten Conference and operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, showcasing a wide array of classic-to-current sports and televising more Olympic sporting events and women’s sports than has ever been aired on any other network. Original programming highlights activities and accomplishments of the Big Ten universities. Each year, the network offers approximately 35-40 football games, 105 regular season men’s basketball games; 55 women’s basketball games; dozens of Big Ten Championship events.

Cox Communications To Organize Media Career Camp On July 30

Cox Communications will organize a media career camp on July 30 partnering with An Achievable Dream School. This camp will hold activities to provide youth with information regarding careers in the telecommunications industry, which will include overviews of the marketing, production, and technical operations areas.

An Achievable Dream is a public/private partnership between the business community and Newport News Public Schools.

Leigh Woisard, Cox Vice President Government and Public Affairs said “The telecommunications industry has many opportunities that young people rarely consider. Yes, there are opportunities in front of and behind the camera, but there are many, many other opportunities as well. We want to expose our region’s youth to the career options they have right here in their own region.”

Cox Appoints Kim Stanley As Vice President of Operations, Roanoke

Cox Communications has appointed Kim Stanley as Vice President of Operations for the Roanoke, Virginia operations. She will report to Mr. Gary McCollum, Cox General Manager and Senior Vice President and responsible for day-to-day management of the Roanoke operation, strategic development of personnel, and financial performance and growth of the operation.

Ms. Stanley was Vice President of Cox Business in Roanoke and before joining Cox; Ms. Stanley was with Level 3 Communications and served as their Vice President of Partner Sales East, as well as their Regional Vice President of Sales and Operations. In addition, Ms. Stanley has held various leadership positions at KMC Telecom and MCI Communications.

Cox Communications To Add Four HD Channels in Oklahoma

Cox Communications is expanding its high-definition programming line-up in many markets and has added two new HD channels Versus HD and AMC HD in Oklahoma on Monday. Cox has recently added more than dozen HD channels in South Hampton Roads. Now the cable operator is planning to add following newHD channels in Oklahoma on Dec.31 :

Cox has also lined up new channels for the Oklahoma subscribers, which will be delivered in 2009.

Cox Communications Receives J.D. Power Honor For Customer Satisfaction for Sixth Consecutive Year

Cox Communications was ranked high in J.D. Power and Associates’ 2008 Residential Regional Telephone Customer Satisfaction Study in the West. Cox receives this award for the sixth consecutive year and Cox was awarded highest honors in overall satisfaction, scored 23 points higher than the West average. Cox ranked highest on every factor comprising overall satisfaction, which includes performance and reliability, cost of service, customer service, billing and offerings and promotions.
